There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.
This is because everything in my life requires work:
- maintaining friendships
- keeping up with my hygiene
- managing bills
- making money
- remembering my basic needs
- sleeping regularly
- outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.
Reminder that if there is stuff you dislike about the updated graphics we are witnessing in the Benchmark or feel somethings could be implemented better. You can still chime in on the forums to provide feedback. There is still a couple months left. And they've been addressing issues a step at a time with each major hurdle. These updates are still not set in stone and there is still time. So rather than just shit posting or raging at some changes make your voice heard. Be constructive in the criticism and remember they are listening particularly intently for these updates.
Being dismayed at some changes is completely fine, but there is a time and a place to express that dismay. Large Discord servers with hundreds of members, Twitter threads visible to everyone (including devs,) and other widely public places aren't going to get positive results.
By all means, be upset, express your upset to supportive friends, write a post on a blog to get it off your chest, that is completely fine. Just keep in mind that there's always a time and a place for appropriate reactions, and the company-run forums are not the appropriate place for heavy emotional upset.
Express your opinions as clearly and politely as you can, state what you'd like to see changed--maybe the lips as they appear now in the game are better, maybe you liked the eyes we have now--in clear, concise terms. And be polite, truly. We're people, and so are they.
